Coop Got Talent (Coming up on December 3, 2010 @ Digos City)


I: Title: COOP GOT TALENT

II. BACKGROUND
Coop Got Talent was conceptualized to give a unique impact to the celebration of the upcoming cooperative month celebration 2010 and eventually for the conduct of the Tapok Tapok sa Koop og Barkadahan sa Pasko 2010. In the recent years, the occasions were coupled with contests such as Choral Competition, Ball Room Dancing, Rondalla , Raprapan and the like. However, comments and feedbacks arose that the repetition of such kind of contests will give ample of opportunities to the previous winners to bank another victory. Thus, another form of competition was designed and conceptualized, known as COOP GOT TALENT.


III. Description
COOP GOT TALENT was patterned after the popular TV SHOWS like Pilipinas Got Talent and Showtime and Talentadong Pinoy. This will give the participants the absolute freedom of choice as to what kind of talent they want to present during the contest.
Talents and skills might be portrayed by group composed of not less than five (5) members. Contestants can do variety of performance, such as group dancing or singing, medley, magic and acrobatics, drama, and other forms of entertainment that portrays unique talents and skills.
IV. Mechanics
a. The contest is open to all cooperative members, whether regular or associate, in Region XI. Likewise, the respective cooperative development councils can also send their entry as long as the performers are bonafide members of the council. As proof of membership, a certification shall be issued by the chairman of the cooperative or council proving the membership of their contestants.

b. The contest is divided into two (2) categories, namely: YOUTH AND ADULT
Youth = members of laboratory cooperative; associate or regular members of a cooperative not more than 35 years old.
Adult = members of a cooperative, whether regular or associate, who are 36 years old and above.
There shall only be one contestant per category to represent the province. Each province is encouraged to conduct PROVINCIAL COOP GOT TALENT Contest during the October Cooperative Month Celebration. Winners in the provincial level shall be the representatives to the Tapok Tapok sa Koop og Barkadan sa Pasko 2010.

c. Each Performer, shall include a 20 second introduction about the cooperative and province that they represent and the latest phase of such introduction must mention “COOP GOT TALENT”. The maximum time for the whole performance of each entry in only five (5) minutes, including the introduction. Going beyond to this time limit shall be a ground for the judges to deduct certain points from the score of the performers.

d. Inasmuch as the presentation requires audience participation, there will be a selected few from the audience who will be given score placards. They will raise the score placards after every performance, showing the best score that they will give to the performers. Score placards shall be numbered from 8, 9, and 10. However, Audience ratings do not count, and will not be totaled. However, it will serve as guide for the judges to determine the best performers.

V. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Originality 20% Skills and Talents portrayal must be original.
Mastery 35% The ability of the performer/s to perfect the talents and skills and perform or portray them well.
Stage Presence 20% Performer’s ability to command the audience's attention through projection, focus, attention, expression, confidence, and so on.
Audience Impact 15% The ability of the performer/s to influence the audience by getting its attention and appreciation to the talents and skills being portrayed
Costume 10% Must be related to the subject of the performance ; it must coincide with the meaning of the talents and skills projected.

VI. PANELISTS/ JUDGES
Panel of Judges shall be composed of Three (3) members preferably coming from the media (TV Industry); Academe and Cooperative Sector. They must be given an advance copy of this concept paper for early reference and information.

VII. REGISTRATION FEE OF THE CONTESTANTS

Since the contestants are the ones providing entertainment during the show, they will only pay the cost for their meals and snacks. They will be exempted from paying the cost of the venue and the kit. However, if they wish to receive the kit, then they shall pay its corresponding price.

VIII. PRODUCTION TEAM/STAFF

The whole show shall be managed by a Production Team compose of the HOSTS ; committee on Lights and sounds effects; confetti in charge; usherettes for the judges and for the contestants; onstage and backstage incharge and others.
